To come at an initial price of Rs 8,999 Redmi 9 Today we are going to take tests and we will see that a new smartphone will come in this price Realme c12 And Narzo 20A How different is the phone and whether it can survive in front of the rivals.
Redmi 9: Design
The Redmi 9 is quite long and wide, which we also felt while trying to use it with one hand. Thankfully, it does not seem too thick or heavy, even if its thickness is around 9 mm and weighs 194 grams. It is easy to reach the power button, but to reach the volume button, the hand has to be adjusted slightly, as they are above the power button. Surprisingly, Xiaomi has given a micro-USB port in it, its previous model had USB Type-C port.
The plastic quality used in it is good and the phone looks very strong. Redmi 9 has a square -sized camera module at the back, which have been adopting most brands for some time recently. There is a circular cut for fingerprint sensor, which is slightly smaller than normal but in our use it did good work. There is also face unlock, which was not very fast.
Redmi 9 has a 6.53-inch IPS HD+ display with 720×1600-pixels resolution. The viewing angles and colors are very good, of course better than those Realme C12 and C15. Brightness was also sufficient, although it could be slightly higher. Being a budget phone, there is no high refresh rate, but it will not be right to complain about it. A waterdrop notch is found at the top and quite thick bezels all around.
In the box, Redmi 9, 10 watt charger, data cable, SIM tray pins, and user guides are available. You do not get any case or cover.

Redmi 9: Performance
Redmi 9 MediaTek Helio runs on the G35 processor and the same chipset is used by Realme C12 and C15. Redmi 9 has two variants, both have 4 GB LPDDR4X RAM. You can choose 64 GB and 128 GB storage options, which cost Rs 8,999 and Rs 9,999 respectively. The flash storage used here is 5.1. The phone also has Wi-Fi N, Bluetooth 5 and FM radio. For radio you need to apply earphones, but it was not with Redmi 8.

Performance is decent keeping the budget nature of this phone in mind. The Redmi runs on 9 MIUI 12, which is based on Android 10. Animation had some noticeable legs and sometimes there was some delay in opening the app or system menu. It is similar to the Reality C15, with similar chipsets and RAM.
The gaming performance was a bit weak. Games such as Grand Mountains run well, but do not get smooth frimit in heavy games like Asfault 9. The video looks fine on the phone’s display and the speaker at the bottom was quite loud.
The MIUI 12 stock apps are filled with advertisements and fill the notification panel with unwanted alerts. A lot of apps come in advance, but thankfully most of these can be uninstall.

Redmi 9: Battery Life
Redmi 9 gave a satisfactory battery backup in our experience. We easily get one and a half days of uses. The phone has a 5,000mAh battery. In our HD video loop test, Redmi 9 lasted for 18 hours and 44 minutes, which is a great time. However, it takes some time to charge this large battery. Even after an hour with the supported 10W charger, the Redmi 9 battery reached only 40 percent. This phone does not support fast charging, which is a bit disappointing.
Redmi 9: Cameras
Redmi 9 has a quite a minor setup. You get a 2-megapixel depth sensor with a 5-megapixel selfie camera, and a 13-megapixel primary rear camera. The camera app gives basic shooting mode and also has a pro mode.
The quality of photographs is quite average when shooting in daylight. When you zoom, HDR takes out the details well, but landscape shots bring artificial details. Close-up was a bit better, but the exposure could be better. The speed of autofocus was fine, but cannot be said very well. Portrait mode worked quite well, even for objects.

Redmi 9 actually struggles in low light. It took some time to lock the focus on close-up subjects. Details were weak at night shooting. The camera increases AI exposure, but there is no dedicated night mode to use.
Redmi can give usable selfies on social media during 9 days, but struggles in giving good results in low light.

The quality of the video was also average during the day -long shooting. You can capture at 1080p, but stability is useless. While shooting the video, the camera repeatedly finds focus and as expected, quality is very bad in low light.
Verdict
Redmi 9 The smartphone competes with several budget phones at an initial price of Rs 8,999, but when you have Realme Narzo 10A As there are phones, it becomes a little weak, because the Names offers better hardware in almost the same amount of money. Redmi 9’s 128 GB storage version is Rs 9,999 and it is Redmi 9 Prime Also competes with, which gives much better performance and specifications at the same price.
We do not think there is a special feature in Redmi 9, which can make it separate from other smartphones at this price. This would have been a good option at a low price, but recently the price of the smartphone in the industry had increased, given that we feel that you can go with other options for Redmi or this price of Reality.
