Samsung Galaxy M31S: Design
The Samsung Galaxy M31S has a somewhat new design, which makes it stand a little different than other phones of the Galaxy M-Series. It has a 6.5-inch Infinity-O display, which is set in the center at the top. Due to this, it takes premium to see the Galaxy M31S. The size of the bezels is acceptable in terms of price, but some people may distract a bit in the center.
Samsung galaxy m31s The side-mounted fingerprint scanner is given, which is set to the right with the volume button. It is not difficult to reach these buttons holding the smartphone in hand. We would like the placement of the volume button more to the left, where this phone has only space for sim tray. The USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack and speakers are at the bottom while the top has a secondary microphone.
The phone has a plastic back, which Samsung Glassstick calls. It comes with bright finish and very easily holds the fingers. We had to wipe again and again to maintain its bright look. Samsung Galaxy M31S has two gradients Finnish options – Mirage Black and Mirage Blue. We had Mirage Black variant for this review and we liked it.
The Galaxy M31S has a quad-camera module at the back, similar to the Galaxy M31, but the placement of the sensor changed. The module also has a single-LED flash. The Galaxy M31S provides a 6,000mAh battery, leading to 203 grams of its weight. You will feel the burden by holding this phone in your hand for a while. The edge of the back is curved, which makes the phone easier to grip.
Samsung Galaxy M31S: Specifications
Samsung has used its Exynos 9611 processor to power Galaxy M31. We have seen this processor in many Galaxy smartphones including Galaxy M21 so far, which cost less than Rs 15,000. Exinous 9611 chipset is a competent processor, but we expected Samsung to use something new and more powerful. Exynos 9611 is an octa-core processor, with four Cortex-A73 core 2.3 GHz with speed and four Cortex-A53 core come with 1.7 GHz speed. The smartphone is available in 6 GB RAM and 8 GB RAM options, but storage is available 128 GB. You get the option to increase storage to 512 GB using microSD card.
There is support for Bluetooth 5, dual-band Wi-Fi AC and GPS as well as dual 4G and VoLTE. Samsung has given a 25 Watt USB Type-C charger in the box, which is given for the first time in the Galaxy M Series phone. You also get a USB Type-C to Type-C Cable, which can be used to reverse other devices of Galaxy.

Samsug Galaxy M31S gets Oneui 2.1 based on Android 10. Our review unit included July Android Security Patch. The UI is similar to other Galaxy M Series smartphones, which we have reviewed earlier, such as Galaxy M31 and Galaxy M21 smartphones.
The Galaxy M31S also has the Galaxy Store app, which is an alternative to the Google Play Store. The phone has glass lock screen stories, so you will see promotional photos and stories on the lockscreen. You can close it if necessary. I timely see some notifications of the My Galaxy app.
The Galaxy M31S also has other useful software features, such as dual apps, which lets you run two clones of the same app. You get the digital wellbying feature of Android. There is also a game toolbar, which helps you block notifications and full-screen gestures and gives in-game screen recording feature.
Samsung Galaxy M31s: Performance and Battery Life
The Samsung Galaxy M31S has a slightly old processor, but it performs day to day work. We did not find any kind of leg while scoring in the menu. We had 6 GB RAM variants, so the phone easily did multitasque. However, it took longer than normal to load heavy apps.
We found that the side-mounted fingerprint scanner was fastened to unlock the device. The phone used to identify facial easily, but we did not find it very fast. The display of the Galaxy M31S was crisp, it had good viewing angles and it had enough bright outside. The camera hole can distract while watching the video, but you may get used to it in some time.

We played PUBG Mobile on the Galaxy M31S and the game was default on the high preset, with the graphics set on HD and the frame rate on high. We played the entire game on this settings without any lag. After playing for 20 minutes, the device was lightly heated to touch, which was worth tolerating.
Galaxy M31S gives good battery life and in my use it lasted for two days. In our HD video loop test, the smartphone lasted for 24 hours and 2 minutes, which was impressive. However, the brightness of the battery decreases automatically when it falls below 15 percent.

The phone provides 25 watch charger, which is capable of charging it up to 34 percent in 30 minutes and 65 percent in one hour. It took one and a half hours to charge the phone with full shelter. Overall, battery performance is excellent and reverse charging is also a good feature, which can charge your other devices with a 6,000mAh battery of charge Galaxy M31S.
Samsung Galaxy M31S: Cameras
Samsung Galaxy M31S comes with a quad-camera setup. It has a 64-megapixel primary camera, whose aperture is F/1.8. The second is a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, with a 123-degree field of view. Apart from this, 5-megapixel macro camera and 5-megapixel depth sensor are available. The camera app is very similar to the other Galaxy smartphone. It also includes single tech features, instead of shooting a simple video clip, pre-aphlied filters, as well as hyperlaps and boomerang video effects as well as photos. Overall, the pictures and videos taken in a variety of mode in one click will be found together. It also has a Pro shooting mode, which lets you control the settings completely.

The Galaxy M31S takes a 16-megapixel shot by default from its 64-megapixel primary sensor. In the daylight, the phone reads the light correctly and the AI scene quickly detects the scene. The photos taken in the daylight were sharp and had enough details. The text in the pictures also comes in reading even after cropping up to 100 percent. You also have the option to take shots at the entire 64 megapixel resolution, but we preferred the Default 16-Megapixel Resolution feature.

The wide-angle camera captures a broad area, but slightly disturbs looks and the edges of the picture are drawn. The resolution is so high that you can crop these shots, but the detail levels are lower than the photographs taken from the primary camera. Close-up had good details and the background also came well. The Galaxy M31S has a live focus mode for portrait, which allows you to set the blur level before taking the shot. The macro camera lets you get very close to the subject, but it is not able to capture the colors well.

In low light, the Galaxy M31S took good shots and also kept the noise (donations) under control. The Wide-Angle camera, however, did not perform well. Shooting a photo in night mode causes a slight crop. The output was not very bright, but it had a little better detail.

For selfie, Galaxy M31 has a 32-megapixel sensor and takes a picture of 8-megapixel by default and if you want a wide frame, take a picture at 12-megapixels. In the daylight, the phone captures good details, but for a crisp shot you will need to keep the phone stable after pressing the shutter button. It gives you the option to capture portrait shot using live focus mode. Low-light selfie did not see a delite-like details.
Verdict
Samsung’s Galaxy M-Series are becoming continuously popular and the company is launching new models one after the other in the market. Galaxy M31S Current Galaxy M31 (Review) is an upgrade and brings a new Infinity-O AMOLED display. Along with this, 25 watt fast charger is also available in it. However, it remains the same 6,000mAh battery and old processor, which can prevent buyers from investing their money.
Its camera performance was largely similar to the Galaxy M31. Although the new single tech feature gives interesting results, the low-resolution output makes fun gritty.
If the battery life is your priority, then there are very few phones that can come close to the performance of Galaxy M31S. However, in such a situation you can save your money by choosing the Galaxy M31, but if you have no abstinence from the old style waterdrop notch. If you want a better value at this price, then Motorola One Fuyan+ (Review) and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max (Review) are eligible options.
