Boeing Qatar Airways Deal: US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that Qatar Airways has ordered a ‘record’ order of 160 aircraft from Boeing, which costs more than $ 200 billion. He made this announcement by signing several agreements in Doha with Qatar’s Amir.

Trump said, “This is a deal of more than $ 200 billion, but only about jets, it is an order of 160 aircraft. It is fantastic. It is the biggest jet order in the history of Boeing. It’s quite a big thing.”

Trump reached Qatar this morning, where the country’s ruler Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani welcomed him. This is the second phase of Trump’s Middle East visit to three countries. Earlier in Saudi Arabia, Trump had signed several economic and bilateral agreements with the country’s leading colleague Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

10 lakh domestic jobs will be born

Boeing’s CEO Kelly Ortberg on Wednesday signed the aircraft deal with Qatar Airways in the presence of President Trump at Amiri Diwan in Doha.

According to the White House, the deal will provide about 1.54 lakh jobs annually in the US. A total of more than 1 million domestic jobs will be produced in this entire production and delivery cycle.

Boying in continuous losses for 7 years

The agreement for Boeing has come at a time when the company has been in continuous losses since 2018. The company has faced problems such as serious security concerns, flaws in construction, huge increase in costs and strikes of mechanical staff last year.

Apart from this, China had stopped the delivery of Boeing aircraft in response to the US tariff due to the trade war between the US and China. This also affected the company’s international deals.

Boeing deficit is decreasing

However, Boeing has limited its deficit in the recent quarterly results. According to CEO Ortberg, the company is now working towards solving an order backlog worth more than $ 500 billion. This has created a possibility of improving income and production in future.

This deal is considered to be the beginning of a new phase for Boeing. Especially, at a time when the company is trying to achieve credibility again globally.
