Weather update: On the evening of 13 May, there was light rain in many areas of Delhi-NCR. Due to rain, the weather patterns got a little cold and people have got some relief. Today, on 14 May, there is a possibility of rain in many parts. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Delhi-NCR, warning of thunderstorms and strong winds in the next few hours. The alert released at 4 pm on Tuesday has estimated light rain in many parts of the country at a speed of 30 to 50 km/h and thunder light rain.

Stormy weather will affect many areas of the country

According to IMD, the stormy season can affect many areas across the country. This is expected to receive rain in Delhi, while many states including Assam, Meghalaya and parts of the Western Ghats may see rain with strong wind and thunder. IMD has predicted strong rains at different places in Assam and Meghalaya, while some areas are expected to have extreme heavy rains. Similarly, heavy rains are also expected in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.

There may be strong rains in the areas adjacent to Delhi

According to the Meteorological Department, there may be intense rains in the areas near the capital. It has been warned that, waterlogging and roads in the low -lying areas of the city may be submerged and there may be power cuts. Those traveling in the evening may have to face rain. The IMD has urged people to follow the updates to be cautious and to know about the rapidly changing weather situation.

Along with this, IMD has also warned of thunderstorms with strong winds in neighboring states like Rajasthan, Odisha and Chhattisgarh. It has been reported that air speed in some areas can reach 50-60 km/h. There is a possibility of hailstorm in Telangana.
