Moto e7 plus design
Moto E7 Plus Moto G9 was very reminded of us. The design is very similar and some things that we also liked about the Moto E7 Plus. The color of our review unit is Misty Blue. Smartphone companies usually select solid colors on the budget device, but this phone has gone with Motorola gradient finish, which will help to separate it from other budget mobile phones. Motorola has flattened the edges of the Moto E7 Plus as the company did with the Moto G9 and the frame turns a little backwards. It helps in holding the phone well.
For the selfie camera, you get a waterdrop notch upwards, set in a 6.5 inch display. The thickness of the bezels is acceptable according to the price, but you will see that the chin is a bit more thick. The power and volume button of the phone is set to be quite good place, making it easy to use the phone in one-hand. There is also a dedicated button for Google Assistant. This is set above the volume button. Motorola has a dual-camera setup on the Moto E7 Plus that is set just above the fingerprint scanner. Moto E7 is nothing at the top of Plus.
Moto e7 plus specifications
The phone comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 processor. Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 is an octa-core chipset, based on 11 Nm process and works on 1.8GHz clock speed. Motorola has launched the phone in India with only 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage.
We liked its Myux Custom Skin, which is based on Android 10. It gives almost stock experience. Our review unit had a September Android security patch. Motorola’s gestures are available in OS. However, the camera Quick-Lanch Gesture is missing on this device. Which reminds me that E7 Plus is an entry-level model. Gesture-based navigation is capable by default and you can swipe on a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner to show the notification shade. Motorola has kept the blotware negligible. In this, you will only get some apps of Google to Facebook.
Moto e7 plus performance and battery life
We did not see any kind of lag on using the Moto E7 Plus for a week. With 4 GB of RAM, multitasking has no problem and we switched very easily among many apps. We also liked the performance of face unlock and fingerprint scanner.
Gaming performance on Moto E7 Plus is decent and we played call of duty on mid graphics quality without any problem. We found in a 15 -minute gameplay that the phone’s battery fell 3 percent. Mango games go well and the device does not heat up when playing common games.
Battery life is very good in Moto E7 Plus. It lasted 18 hours and 23 minutes in our HD video loop test. The phone lasted for one and a half days with general use. The lack of USB Type-C port is disappointing, but Motorola is not alone in it, Xiaomi’s Redmi 9 also comes with micro-USB port.
Moto E7 Plus gets 10W charger, which is relatively slow. It charged the phone 22 percent in 30 minutes and 43 percent in one hour. It takes two hours to charge it completely. It is a matter of regret that it does not have fast charging support.
Moto e7 plus cameras
The Moto E7 Plus has a dual-camera setup, which comes with a 48-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.7 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. For selfie, this phone has an 8-megapixel sensor with F/2.2 aperture.
Motorola’s camera application is very easy to use and I did not face any problem with it. Photo mode gives you the option to control ISO, focus, white balance and exposure by yourself.
Daylight photos were good and adequate sharpness and good details. The phone automatically enabled HDR for bright scene and the camera was fast taking shots. In case of close-up subject, it added soft blur in the background and also kept the picture sharp.
Portrait mode uses depth sensors, but we saw that Moto E7 Plus better capture people and animals than objects. It works well in detecting edges and also gives you the option to set the blur level before taking the picture.
The low-light camera performance was average and the output smooth appeared. Enabling the night mode leads to a lot of change in the output, which gave a lot of bright and sharp photos. The phone takes about two seconds to capture a shot and in such a situation we will advise you to use night mode only after the sun sinks.
The selfie taken during the day was good and a portrait mode is also available, so that you can set the blur’s level. Applying a phone mask does not recognize the face for portrait. Low-light selfie was average.
Verdict
After using the Moto E7 Plus for a few days, we can say that this is a very good option according to its price. There is enough performance and many budget phones will be happy with this. Its long battery will remove your day very comfortably without worrying about life charging. However, micro-USB port makes the fun of charging here gritty.
The camera performance is good, while it should be noted that this phone has only two cameras. If you want a good all-rounder and a clean user interface, then the Moto E7 Plus is for you.
