OnePlus 9RT Specifications and Software
The second major change in the phone has been made in its performance. OnePlus 9RT has the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chip as OnePlus 9. This is the only phone of 9 series, which is equipped with eight 5G bands, due to which it will not be easily outdated in the coming time. OnePlus has also said that for better stability during gaming, now three Wi-Fi antennas have been used in the phone instead of two. The touch response of the phone’s screen has also been improved, which reaches 600Hz in some games.
This phone misses IP rating and wireless charging. Samsung gives these features in its Fe Series and the price of the handset, especially that the price of Galaxy S20 Fe 5G, comparatively gives a very tough competition to 9RT.
My unit had Oxygenos 11.3 based on Android 11. Its next version, which will be based on Android 12, is currently in the development stage and will come in the phone via OTA update. However, the curtain has not been lifted since its release. The phone’s interface is quite clean and comes with light-light blotware. Google’s SMS app and dialer app are available in the phone, which also supports call recording. There are also considerable customization options for fonts and wallpapers.
OnePlus 9RT Performance and Battery Life
OnePlus 9 RT proved to be quite reliable in everyday use. It gave a wonderful experience thanks to its strong body and fast software. The in-display fingerprint sensor is extremely fast and the phone’s menu can be navigated faster. Switching between the apps was also very fast.
The multimedia playback of the phone is very good. The rendering of standard and HDR videos is excellent. The experience of watching content was good due to HDR capability of the display on streaming apps like Netflix. I liked the sound of Stereo speakers and with the help of Dolby Atmos support, many types of sound profiles can be set. The processor is strong and games are smooth runs. It was very fun to play Fortnite and got better experience when the graphics quality increased. A similar experience was found in Call of Duty: Mobile. The touch response of the display also helps to increase gaming experience. The phone handled heating in a very good way. Even after a very long gesture, the phone felt modest heating.
We also liked the battery performance of OnePlus 9RT. The phone has a 4,500mAh capacity battery, which lasted for 20 hours and 16 minutes in our internal test. In this, we ran the HD video clip loop until the phone stopped. This is much higher than the OnePlus 9R or OnePlus 9. Common use, including the use of gaming, calls, camera, social media apps etc. for a short time, was able to take the phone comfortably for one and a half days in single charge. Charging is quite fast. The Warp Charge 65T charging brick found with the phone charged the battery from 0 to 100 percent only 30 minutes.
OnePlus 9RT Cameras
The primary camera of 9RT has been improved against the OnePlus 9R. The 9RT has a 50 -megapixel Sony IMX766 sensor. The same camera was used as an ultra wide camera at OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro. A special feature of this sensor is Dol-HDR support. This feature comes in handy when the subjects are standing right in front of sunlight while recording video. In such a situation, this feature captures the video in the high dynamic range and the light falling from the back on the subject is controlled to a great extent. We saw this feature in the primary camera of OnePlus 9 Pro. Low-light photo quality has also been greatly improved.
The rest of the sensors are found in the same way as in 9R. These have a 16 -megapixel Sony IMX481 Ultra Wide camera, a 2 -megapixel macro camera and a 16 -megapixel selfie camera. It has a lower resolution compared to the 9R’s macro camera. The selfie camera is the same that is running through many OnePlus phones. It is an average camera and the video can also record up to 1080p.
The camera app found in the phone is taken from the color of Oppo, the sister company of OnePlus. It provides an AI scene improvement feature, which can be turned on or off. Apart from this, dual view recording options are available. A Hi-ice mode is also given, which adds a 108 megapixel photo by adding multiple frames shot from the main camera.
While shooting the video during the day, the main camera captured the details well. After turning on the AI option, the colors looked lightly artificial. Potitrate mode photos have come out well many times, many times bad, because some parts of the subject were blurred (blurred). The camera gets digital zoom up to 10X and because the camera resolution is quite high, the photo looks good even after crop crops.
Ultra wide camera captures a large area, but the quality here decreases slightly. Macro camera takes good clix in sufficient light, but it disappoints in low light. The main camera captured good photos in low light without starting the night mode, but after zoom it was found that they were processed a lot. Ultra wide camera disappointed in low light. The selfie camera performed well in daylight, but the face looked soft and the skin tone was also not accurate.
This phone can shoot up to 4K videos on 60fps. The quality of the video is good in sufficient light and the video stabilization also affects. With the help of the Dol-HDR feature, the video also recorded better in the lights from behind the subject. However, the background highlights boost excessively. The low-light video quality disappoints a bit. Grains were seen due to the side effects of stabilization of the recorded video while walking and the video also appeared in the video.
Verdict
OnePlus 9RT is a powerful smartphone. It is beautifully made and the performance is also wonderful. The upgrade made in the main camera makes it a tough competitor, but the performance of the rest of the cameras disappoints, especially in low-light. The phone’s battery is good. This phone beats OnePlus 9R and OnePlus 9. If the price of OnePlus 9R is reduced to a great extent, then it can be seen as an alternative.
OnePlus 9RT gives more value than OnePlus 9, but still I will call it expensive. OnePlus is very late to launch it and Xiaomi 11t Pro 5G, Realme gt And Samsung Galaxy S20 Fe 5G This proves more value for money devices. If you are waiting for the OnePlus 10 series to enter India, then this wait can be quite long. Currently, the company has declared the series only. It would be wrong to speculate about when it will launch in India.
OnePlus 9RT is a powerful flagship phone, but if its price decreases a few thousand rupees, then it can prove to be a best smartphone deal. If you cannot wait, some such options are available in the market at a lower price from Xiaomi, Realme and Samsung.
