After the ceasefire between India and Pakistan on Saturday, peace is still visible on the border. After the Pahalgam terror attack, India launched Operation Sindoor and Pakistan had launched a major attack and wiped out the terrorists. After that, India responded strongly to every action of Pakistan. At the same time, India has taken another big step to expose Pakistan in front of the world. India will be sent to the UN Security Council (UNSC) next week. This will hand over new evidence promoting Pakistan’s terrorism.
India will send a team to the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). This team will present new evidence to promote Pakistan’s terrorism. Next week, UNSCR 1267 Sections Committee will meet.
What is the United Nations 1267 Ban Committee
The United Nations Security Council’s 1267 Ban Committee was established in the year 1999 under Sankalp 1267. The basic objective of this committee was to ban persons and organizations associated with Taliban, Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda. However, the scope and influence of this committee has increased over time. Now this committee also works to ban individuals, groups and institutions associated with the Islamic State (ISIS) and other declared terrorist organizations. This includes strict steps such as travel restrictions, property seizure and arms restrictions. This committee is part of the integrated efforts of the international community that aims to ensure effective control over global terrorism.
Challenge before India
India has repeatedly contacted the United Nations 1267 sanctions committee to highlight the activities of terrorists operating in Pakistan and to recognize their involvement in cross-border terror attacks. As a result of these efforts, many terrorists have been included in the global terrorist list over the years. However, some of the names proposed by India have also faced a ban. Especially China, who is a permanent member of the Security Council and who has veto power, has vetoed these proposals several times. Such obstacles come up as a serious challenge in the path of global solidarity against terrorism.
